SWEARING

The interesting thing is, there's not as much swearing as you'd think. It was the 1970s, and until the Sex Pistols had had their merry little way on the "Today" show in 1976, swearing barely existed.

Regan & Carter were desperately trying to improve the score, but as you can see, even by their hard-men standards, the results now look pretty weak. Not an F-word in sight.

This has been the episode with the most swearing found so far.

1) Regan: "Well laugh yer bastards, that one cost me a fiver" (Regan's telling a joke).

2) Mrs Clayton: "You bastard, Regan"

This episode makes number 2 in the swearing charts.

1) Leigh: "The word is you're an evil bastard." - to Regan.

2) Stan: "...a right hard bastard." - about Regan.

This episode has the 3rd most swearing...

1) Carter: "I've met some by-the-book-bastards, but that Station Super..."

2) Regan: "If you weren't who you are I'd kick your arse up to your shoulderblades."
